Well, the holiday is no time to sit down to write. Instead I've been working on this Holiday Greeting for you.
Amy's Holiday Video
I can't even figure out who I sent cards to already, so I've opted to not send anymore and aim for Valentine's as a goal. If not Valentine's, Easter. Yeah, waaaah. I got married again right before Thanksgiving and while I kept my Thank You notes very organized, I dropped the ball for the Holiday Cards. You'll get over it. Or cut me off of your own card list. It's incredibly empowering!
Of course, with our third wedding reception finally over, I was eager to edit my card list to add new friends and delete some bad ones, but I sent thanks out for the Jersey wedding with photos around Thanksgiving. The only thank-yous I HAVEN'T sent pertain to the Detroit wedding so if you're not in Detroit and did not receive one it was either lost in the mail or, perhaps, you didn't give us anything; so now you know whether or not you should mention it to me. After finishing those, I decided I could free myself to do other things for a while. In fact, I was in a student film before our Detroit festivities and recently shot a spec commercial that's yet another hilarious concept.
The Detroit Wedding was a screenwriter's disaster except that most of the people were not out to get each other. There was a moment towards the end of the party when the bouquet catcher so gently nudged another guest away from the bar in order to pour herself the very last of the liquor with an air of triumph! I will post a blog about Detroit later, but let me simply say this, I mopped the gallery's floor an hour or so before the wedding. Jeremy's parents may be holding onto a photo of it, but I'm not certain. If I had the photo, the tale would be soda-through-the nose funny.
There are hundreds of other wedding pictures on kodakgallery.com. Kodak forces you to email invites to people for viewing and they have my old AOL addresses on file so if you aren't invited to look and WANT TO LOOK, let me know and I'll make it happen!
Anyway, I'm not ready to write about weddings. It's not because of bad feelings, but because we've been traveling around on this wedding tour for a couple of months and I still haven't gotten all of the boxes put away from our wonderful wedding gifts from you all. I'm pretty excited about some of this because I REALLY want to move to Los Angeles before the winds change and I feel it's time to settle down back east. All of my transient life, I end up moving as soon as I get my current place exactly as I want it. With the help of stylish coasters, vases, and lamps from the fruits of marriage, I'm really enjoying our home which means I'm so close to being out of here.
So this email is short and sweet. If you want to read more about my ridiculous auditions, go to http://www.itcasting.biz/comment/index.html . Be sure to donate to them because I want to see my improv on their site!!!! My trials and tribulations can also be viewed in the Sock and Buskin newsletter of Grosse Pointe.
If you feel like your slipping away from me, you can also get inside my head on www.amyarena.com/blog , www.myspacemusic.com/amyarena , facebook, and twitter. I know. It's just amazing how I get around on the same free social networking sites that ANYBODY can get on. Crazy.
Again, I can't choose among my heros of late, but Mrs. Joellyn Ellis made GORGEOUS paper flowers for my wedding table tops and several varieties of AMAZING brownies in place of a wedding cake. I'm sorry to say I may now be responsible for several white-chocolate brownie addictions. That said, she can take the lead as the top Hero of the Month and also be the example with a Recession Buster of a Frugal Wedding.
My Christmas wish list is that you all follow the link to my Holiday Video, Share the link with friends, and say NICE THINGS about my great friends and my very first film production attempt!
