You need to make them.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT you need to make an appearance at a fundraiser I've been working on with the creative people from UPR DETROIT. This nonprofit I've been working with purchased a giant school bus that skirts around town serving food to the people of the city. The next step is to transform the yellow monster into a fully operational and bio-diesel Emergency Relief Unit. What's that? Oh, a mobile station such as the ones that popped up after Hurricane Katrina to provide southerners with meals, information, blankets, first aid, and other necessities. UPR Detroit is making that service a reality right now, right here.

THE WINE TASTING EVENT is at TV Lounge, 2548 Grand River, and we'll be serving a variety of fine wines and a delicious spread of nibblers. The soiree goes down from 6-9PM, costs an easy and inclusive $30, and will feature the Future Jazz Kartel.

THAT SAID, I NEED YOU HERE ON SATURDAY NIGHT for our GOING AWAY PARTY. We're going to start at 8PM and will hold the door until every last working actor and musician calls and asks if anyone is still here. It appears we're moving for real this time. Maybe not for real, for real. You know, when gigs call we will be here.

My friends have told me about a cabin in Wofford Heights that we can move into cheaply and quickly that's absolutely adorable. Wofford Heights is a Lake Isabella community about three hours northeast of Los Angeles just under the forest. Which reminds me, I have several books nearly I should finish while I'm in the right environment. We're looking forward to this being a very cozy springboard to LA for us. We'll be leaving in a few short weeks so, please, come see us off this weekend. And even if you suspect will be back every month or so, come for JEREMY'S BIRTHDAY! Get back to me for directions.

IT ALSO APPEARS MY ALBUM IS DONE!!!! But I'm having a difficult time letting go. Sometimes, one just has to be done even when something isn't finished. I was reminded of this as I waited at the laundromat for my corduroy comforter to dry. It wasn't done, but I sure was. Maybe it will dry a little more on the bed and I'll sleep tight. Maybe if I leave the album alone for a minute, I'll find myself at peace with it.

So that's where I've been. For those of you here in Detroit, show yourselves before I disappear a while. I'll see the rest of you around sooner or later :)

be seen,

Amy
