I’m in San Francisco/East Bay until Wednesday working on some tracks and finally feeling that sense of accomplishment I always hear so much about. I’ve also had music being held hostage, much like film copy, from folks I’m no longer working with. Without a ransom note I tried tracking them down much like guys who do day labor have to do with their strange drug addicted bosses who don’t pay them. These producers will complain that I can’t let it go, but I “want my two dollars!!!!”
I could say a lot more about that, but I’ve got a LOT going on right now that I will certainly share with you all. In the mean time, here are a few paragraphs that begin the new blog on my page.
Michigan Gave Me The Finger
So maybe Detroit isn’t anyone’s first choice except those hometown pride people, but even many natives are scratching to get out of here. It’s no secret that while I’ve had some wonderful times with amazing people accomplishing some pretty bizarre goals, I’ve struggled here with stuff that should come easily. Driving is one of those things.
Yesterday I borrowed Jeremy’s car to drive to get to my dentist’s in Sterling Heights for the final time. Though I’ve been going there regularly for two years, I’m continually trying to figure out the quickest way to 19 and Schoenner in Sterling Heights and continually driving 20 minutes out of my way. Not surprisingly, the work wasn’t quite right so I’ll be going back, AGAIN. Driving home, I found myself crossing over Schoenner three times without ever turning around. I’m not sure how that happens. While dodging an unusual amount of lane drifters, I attuned myself with the wobble in Jeremy’s car assuring myself that wobble in his back left tire was indeed the problem. Not the chassis. Well, is that assuring?
